Christmas Events is part of the Stretch Wide Community

STRETCH WIDE

Welcome to the stretch-wide community, a platform where you can share all the amazing things you do with the world.

Why stretch-wide?

We were inspired by Isaiah’s prophecy, chapter 54 verse 1:  “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left . . .”  In other words:  “your buildings aren’t big enough – make them bigger”

We, like most Churches, want to partner with the Holy Spirit into making this a reality.  Successive governments recognise the amazing social and community work Churches do, but the average person has no idea what is going on in their local churches.  Most people, when searching the internet for help don’t look at the websites for their local church but will search for: debt advice, help with life events, baby & toddler groups, craft groups, how can I pray, etc.

Our platform enables people to make their searches, on their terms and in their language, to find your church’s activity.  Stretch-wide enables Churches to work as one, as Jesus prayed.  The more churches join, the more your church’s activities will be seen.

As stretch-wide has grown, we have also developed websites promoting Christmas and Easter events. These are supposedly Christian festivals to celebrate Jesus but, looking at the internet, it would be easy to think the church no longer exists.  We want to change this.  We’re ambitious.  We want Christian Churches to be top of every search when it comes to Christmas and Easter.

If you’d like to know more, please go to: christmas-events.co.uk and easter-events.co.uk

Stretch-wide’s statement of faith is the Nicene Creed

As Christians we can focus on the areas of ecclesiology and theology where we disagree, or we can focus where we agree.  At stretch-wide we focus on the areas of agreement:  We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven; by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and was made man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;  He suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the father.  He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified.  He has spoken through the Prophets.

We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.

We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
