Christmas Tree Festival York Minster Cathedral will run from 30 November 2024 to 5 January 2025, offering a magical holiday experience. Set within the historic York Minster, the festival will showcase 70 beautifully decorated trees in the Nave, Chapter House, and Lady Chapel. Each tree will be uniquely adorned by local businesses, schools, and charities, reflecting individual themes that celebrate community spirit.
Visitors are invited to explore the stunning display and participate in the festival by adding personal Christmas messages to the prayer trees. This interactive feature fosters a sense of connection and reflection during the festive season.
The festival will officially open
On Saturday, 30 November, at 10 am with the ‘Minster Mash-Up’—a special light switch-on service designed for children and families. This joyful event marks the beginning of a celebration that combines tradition and creativity in a captivating setting.
The Christmas Tree Festival is included in general admission and will be accessible during regular visiting hours. With no additional cost beyond entry, it provides an enchanting experience for visitors of all ages.
